Heinrich Hoffman (painter)

Heinrich Hoffmann (1824 - 1911) was a late 19th to early 20th century German painter who created many well-known paintings depicting the life of Jesus Christ.
Three of his paintings were purchased by John D. Rockefeller, Jr.: Christ in the Temple (1871), Christ and the Young Rich Man (1889), and Christ in Gethsemane (1890). These now are displayed at the Riverside Church in New York City.
