Height of Roman Fashion

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Height of Roman Fashion is an American rock band whose members originally hail from Joliet, Illinois. The power trio formed in 2004 when long time collaborators bassist/vocalist Brahm Taylor and guitarist Marc Kaducak asked drummer Scott Carneghi (formerly of Greta) to join. Carneghi had previously replaced Brad Wilk in Greta, when Wilk left to form Rage Against The Machine and eventually Audioslave.

Height of Roman Fashion takes its name from an obscure quote featured in the 1971 film A Clockwork Orange by Stanley Kubrick.

The group's music is a combination of space rock, sludge rock and progressive rock but with the sensibility and structure of power pop. Their lyrics cleverly deal with the darker aspects of religion, fantasy and science fiction but additionally feature such topics as Adolf Hitler, Lolita complex, and the non-medical use of prescription medications.

Height of Roman Fashion’s first critical and commercial success was their nationally recognized theme song for the television documentary series Inked, broadcast by the A&E Network.

During a brief hiatus, Carneghi joined the 2005 Ozzfest tour as drummer for the band Grade8. When business issues forced Grade8 off tour, Carneghi again returned to Height of Roman Fashion.

The group is currently working with producer Michael Wagener recording their full length debut album, slated for release sometime in 2007.
