Sockets for Hedgehog removable anti-tank barrier - OS reference SU271632.
Between bridge over the Kennet and Avon canal and nearby railway. Near Crofton.
Easily accessible.
These sockets are a now rare survivor from the defences created in the UK during WWII. There are several examples extant on or near little-used bridges over the Kennet and Avon canal.
