Hedley is a Canadian Rock band that became prominent when its lead singer Jacob Hoggard placed third during the second season of the reality TV series Canadian Idol.
The band originated from Abbotsford, British Columbia. The members are vocalist Jacob Hoggard, bassist Tommy Mac (ex Flybanger, Everything After), guitarist Dave Rosin (ex Day Theory, Everything After), and drummer Chris Crippin (ex Bif Naked, Everything After). They were named after the town of Hedley, British Columbia, after hearing that it was for sale for $346,000. While the idea of buying the town ran its course, the name remained. The original band bet Jacob $150 that he wouldn't make it to the Idol top 10. Following Hoggard's success on the series, Hedley was signed with Universal Music Canada. Their debut single "On My Own" reached number one on the Canadian Singles Chart and the follow-up "Trip" has peaked at number 11. Their newest singles "321" and "Gunnin" are climbing up the charts as well.
In the summer of 2006, they signed a record deal with Capitol Records in the United States where they recently finished a promo tour.
