Hebrew College (previously known as Hebrew Teacher's College)is "transdenominational" school of Jewish studies, located in Newton Centre, Massachusetts, near Boston, Massachusetts.
A leader in transdenominational Jewish education, Hebrew College promotes Jewish literacy through outstanding graduate and undergraduate study of Judaism; preparation for the rabbinate, cantorate, Jewish education and communal professions; and lifelong learning opportunities. Welcoming students of all backgrounds, Hebrew College offers many entry points, from beginner's Ulpan to advanced Talmud study, through its Academic Division, Rabbinical School, Shoolman Graduate School of Jewish Education, Jewish Music Institute, Center for Adult Jewish Learning, Prozdor community high school and Camp Yavneh. Whether analyzing Mishnah, writing a day school curriculum for Jewish history, creating a modern midrash, or mastering Jewish liturgy, students work closely with dedicated faculty who are personally invested in their progress. Expanding access to advanced Jewish education, Hebrew College offers master's degrees in Jewish studies and Jewish education, Rabbinical Ordination in a transdenominational setting, and a unique Cantor-Educator Program that combines a Master of Jewish Education with Cantorial Ordination. The College also offers an extensive array of Hebrew language courses, both on campus and via distance learning through Hebrew College Online, as well as a variety of programs in South Florida. Affiliates include the National Center for Jewish Policy Studies and the Interreligious Center on Public Life, a joint venture with Andover Newton Theological School. Hebrew College is also home to the Boston chapter of the American Jewish Historical Society.
