Heavy Snow Warning

A Heavy Snow Warning is issued by the National Weather Service of the United States when a high rate of snowfall is occurring or is forcasted. Generally, the warning is issued for snowfall rates of 6 inches (15 cm) or more in 12 hours, or 8 inches (20 cm) or more in 24 hours.
A similar warning is issued by Environment Canada's Meteorological Service of Canada different offices.
