This page is about the district of Heaton in Bolton, Greater Manchester, England. For other places and people named Heaton, see Heaton (disambiguation).
Heaton is a mostly residential district and council ward of Bolton, Greater Manchester, lying about 2 miles to the north west of the town centre. It is bounded by Deane to the south, Markland Hill to the west and Smithills and Halliwell to the north and east.
It is considered a relatively affluent area of Bolton and is home to the independent day school, Bolton School.
The district is bounded by two of Bolton's major arterial roads, Chorley Old Road (along whose length can be found sundry small, specialised shops) and Chorley New Road, which was the location of choice for many of the wealthy mill-owners of the town's cotton industry.
