[edit] "A" Story
Hal prepares Jamie to go for an afternoon walk and puts on his jacket and is shocked to find the check that was supposed to go to his insurance company 6 months ago! Calling the insurance company, he finds out the check cannot be cashed until Monday morning, meaning the entire family is without insurance during the weekend. Hal takes outlandish precautions to keep the family safe. He even boards up the house doors and windows and locks the boys in their room! While finishing, Hal finds a loose nail, and decides to hammer it into the board of wood it's sticking out of. Surprisingly, this causes the whole roof of the overhang to collapse right on top of him, dislocating his knee. The boys find Hal and try to take him to the hospital, but Hal tells them that he's got no insurance. Reese and Malcolm then take him to a friend that's helped them over the past years and fixes Hal's leg with no problem at all.
[edit] "B" Story
Lois becomes part of the Worker's Union that holds secret meetings organized by Patty, one of the workers there. She is fired by Mr. Cochran for holding these meetings. The other workers immediately realize that someone snitched to Cochran about who organized these meetings. Lois suspects Craig as the snitch, but the others think it's Joe, another employee. Lois tracks down Craig and catches him giving Cochran "a list of names". She tells the other workers that he confessed, and they run out to punish him. She talks to Joe later on, only to realize that he was the real snitch and the "list of names" was for a surprise 10th Anniversary party for Lois. She runs out to find Craig a beaten and battered mess. She unties him and leaves the Lucky Aide to go home. When she comes back, Craig is in the employee lounge with a party set up for Lois...with no one there. All the employees are still mad at Craig even though he sent invitations to everyone, so they don't show up. And Craig is the only one left to celebrate her 10th Anniversary working at Lucky Aide.
