He Knows You Know was Marillion's second single. It was released from their first album, Script For A Jester's Tear. The song's theme is drug abuse, and alludes particularly to intravenous drug use.
As with all songs during this period, the lyrics were written by Derek William Dick (aka Fish). The rock video for this song features Fish struggling in a straight-jacket while tormented by a Jackson chameleon, one of the symbolic figures featured on all of the album covers of Marillion's trilogy: Script for a Jester's tear, Fugazi, and Misplaced Childhood. As far as any devout fan of Marillion can tell, He Knows You Know was the only 12 inch single from Marillion's early 1980s trilogy that was never produced as a Picture Disk.
