User talk:Hannahbanana

In fact I left a "don't add nonsense" warning (it won't do any good; it's just an anon adding a silly page about herself/a friend. Under the new system she has to start an account — she won't use it again). --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 15:26, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

erm, i was serious. it was a real page... it really is a derogatory term.

whoops. i thought that button got someone to add to it, not delete it.

why was it not worthy of existence. wikipedia is about access to information. how can you decide that a piece of info is worthless?

thank you

thank you. i have remade the article and it encompasses the useage of the phrase. please check it again.

Troll page. (aeropagitica) 20:14, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

I myself deleted this user's post which he complains about here. It was about a "tech nerd" phrase used for newbies; it was badly written, punctuated and barely a line long. I considered he visit the recommendations on writing a good Wikipedia article. haz (user talk) 20:16, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

So what is your vote? -- RHaworth 20:18, 14 January 2006 (UTC) Speedy delete - wrong namespace - ignores the overriding notability rule. -- RHaworth 20:18, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

i did visit the page and after that i remade it following the guidelines. This is a page i was inspired to make after having it deleted. its not a complaint. it is constructive criticism which i myself thanked you for on your talk page. themoomin

 • I think its unfair that on wikipedia, my views are ignored. I remade the page that you got annoyed about. if you treat all newbies like this, wikipedia will not grow and diversify.

The Other Me

The Other Me is not nonsense - if you look at the What Links Here page for it, it links back to a list of Disney Channel TV films. --Jeffrey O. Gustafson - Shazaam! - <*> 20:38, 14 January 2006 (UTC)

Note that the "expand" template mustn't be placed on articles; it goes on Talk pages. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 12:31, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

That's OK; it's not always obvious where templates go (in this case it's the wording that gives the clue, but that's not always the case). Ive already put on the Talk page for this article. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 14:11, 15 January 2006 (UTC)

Barbara Shack 17:31, 17 January 2006 (UTC)Please don't try and speedily delete the wrong articles. You came close to deleting my Boiled eggs article. It has since then become a reasonable article. I'm just wondering if there have been many cases when you tried to get something deleted which should be kept. Speedy deletion is so quick people may not have time to resue their work

My User name

Modern Greek transliteration practice is normally to use "i" for "η", rather than the older preference for "e". Older Oxford dons certainly pronounce my name "Mel Etɛtɛs", but I pronounce it with the "i" sound. Modern Greek pronounces many vowels and diphthings as "i" (not just iota and eta, but upsilon, epsilon-iota, omicron-iota... --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 22:32, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

I don't know, and have wide and varies feelings on that. Also, due to suspisciousness going on @ the "CVU" my response to vandals (Which seems to be my general claim to fame, as per talk-page-comments) may be drastically reduced, or totally exterminated, depending on future actions and so getting an account now may not be worth any effort on my part. 68.39.174.238 20:22, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

Hi.

I left the vandalism message on the talk page of 68.39.174.238 after they vandalised this page. I do believe that I was correct with my message, however if I did make a mistake, please accept my apologies.

Thank you.

Basic Instinct 2 vs Basic Instinct 2:Risk Addition

This is not a new article, the name of the movie has changed, from Basic Instinct 2: risk Addiction to just simply Basic Instinct 2. Not trying to create a new page here. Just trying to point it to the right name that's all. Sorry!

Jew haters

You are gravely mistaken HAZ. My friends and I are the ones who are constantly erasing the antisemitic, neo nazi, garbage that the writers and editors of the Abramoff article keep making. So if you are amoung them I'm letting you know now that we are constantly 'PATROLLING' the article. WE HAVE ALREADY written letters to the the board and the originator of WIk. And we will continue to do so.

If you arn't a Jew-hater then make a comment to the writers and editors of this article that they had better BEND OVER BACKWARDS not to bash Jews or Israel in any way.

Thank you to propose your help :)

Indeed, I have had some difficulties with my monobook.js ! I wanted to have a new tab after the 'watch' tab to make a direct search in google. Now, I think it's ok, it works correctly. I will recontact you if I have difficulties to add a new feature. Thanks :) Mister Matt 21:01, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

Abramoff

This commenter is trying to stir up trouble. I've been trying to find consensus in a dispute between people who want to make Jack Abramoff out as the kingpin of Zionism and Palestinian oppression, and other folks who take an equally severe position that any mention of Abramoff's Orthodox Jewish faith or connection with Israel is anti-semitic. My position is that I think that the connection of Israel and Palestine to this individual (Jack Abramoff) is tangential in the extreme, and both parties should go argue their differences out on pages topical to Israel and Palestine. There's more important things to discuss on this article. This particular IP commenter attacked me claiming I am a person named "Kate" and made recriminations that I am anti-semitic, as are some "cabal" of editors of this article. All I can say is that my name's not Kate and I haven't attended any of the cabal meetings recently because it conflicts with my mah-jongg club. It's just insane. -Kwh 21:33, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

* Haz, I am said commentor.

Its really cute that KWH Isn't part of the "cabal" I am sure that the writers and editors of this article will now distance themselves from the fact that the article had horrible references to Jacks being Jewish, an orthodaox yarmulka wearing Jew, a super zionist, and all the like. It's in the history of the article. When we removed the jew-hating comments, these editors bounced us from the WIK until we wrote Jimmy and the board. Its true we were sarcastic, But we were making a point... NO JEW-HATING or ISRAEL BASHING WILL BE TOLORATED.

How insane is that? Not very.

Thanks

plural syntax

I saw your extensive edits of "circulatory system." I'm just curious, what's wrong with linking a plural form like this words? The Wikipedia:Manual of Style (links) says this on the subject:

When forming plurals, do so thus: languages. This is clearer to read in wiki form than languages — and easier to type. This syntax is also applicable to adjective constructs such as Asian, as well as hyphenated phrases and the like.

I've reverted the links as per the WP:MOS. --TheLimbicOne(talk) 22:56, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:CharlesVincent.gif

Thanks for uploading Image:CharlesVincent.gif. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images on Wikipedia is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: TemplateName.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. You can get help on image copyright tagging from Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags.

Hi Haza-w,

Thanks for your additions to Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Re: to a comment you made there, just to let you know that we can't perm block IP address unless it's an open proxy, as per policy. :)

I removed your speedy deletion tag from this article. Normally, you would be correct, but the original contributor is User:Pschemp, who is a trusted user, and has left a good explanation on the article's talk page. Thanks for your new page patrolling! howcheng {chat} 22:45, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

Thanks Haza-w. Maybe its just me but I'm noticing more and more instances when there are 2 different IP addresses vandalising the same article in succession. I've been checking but obviously missed that one. It still needed a further edit to get it back to a clean version. Gimboid13 11:29, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

Hello!

Thanks for your message! No, I'm not a graphic designer (my current user page took a lot of messing up to get right), but I've recently discovered a love of redesigning user pages for people. I think my page is based a bit on Jimbo's, a bit on Angela's old page and a bit on Celestianpower's. Thanks again, smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 20:43, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

Welcome to Esperanza!

Welcome, Haza-w, to Esperanza, the Wikipedia member association! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. Redwolf24 runs the spam to keep members up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Possibles.

I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, Celestianpower, and guided by the Advisory Committee comprised of FireFox, Flcelloguy, Titoxd, and Karmafist. The next set of elections will be in February, and I would be glad to see you vote, or even consider running for a position.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Celestianpower by email or talk page or the Esperanza talk page. Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!
