Hazen Street
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hazen Street is a hardcore punk supergroup that formed in early 2004. They became known after touring with P.O.D. in the summer of 2004 (Blindside and Lacuna Coil also played on this tour) . Hazen Street also played on the Vans Warped Tour in support of their record, which was released in July on DC Flag Records, an Epic Records imprint owned by Benji and Joel Madden of Good Charlotte.
The band featured Freddy Cricien and Hoya of hardcore punk band Madball; Toby Morse of melodic hardcore band H2O; David Kennedy of pop punk band Boxcar Racer and newly formed Angels and Airwaves; and Mackie Jason of hardcore band The Cro-Mags. Chad Gilbert of Shai Hulud and later New Found Glory co-wrote and helped record every song on the album, but he was not credited on the album. Gilbert was dismissed from Hazen Street by New Found Glory's record label due to a contract dispute. He was replaced by Mitts of Madball for their tours.
On August 31st 2005, the band posted an update on their website, reporting that they would begin to work on a new record at the end of 2005, label to be announced. However, there has been no website updates since then, and nothing has been heard regarding this new album. There has been no news about the band splitting up, but the lack of news from the band over the past two years has left some speculation about the band still being together.
Update november 2006: Hazen st will be playing three shows in December 2006 and they have never split up, they were just inactive.
Hazen Street's song "Are You Ready" was the official theme song of WWE Survivor Series 2006.
