Hazel Mae

Hazel Mae is the lead anchor for NESN's SportsDesk. A native of Toronto, she began her sports broadcasting career hosting a sports update show on campus at York University.

She worked in Toronto anchoring the morning edition of Sportsnetnews and JZone on Rogers Sportsnet. Mae began her tenure at Rogers Sportsnet providing sports updates to Sportsnet radio affiliates throughout Ontario.

Before joining NESN, Mae anchored the morning edition of Sportsnetnews on Rogers Sportsnet, Canada’s all-sports network. In addition to her duties on “Sportsnetnews,” Mae was the host of Jzone, a weekly magazine show dedicated to the world of Major League Baseball, with a focus on the Toronto Blue Jays. Mae began her tenure at Rogers Sportsnet providing sports updates to Rogers Sportsnet radio affiliates throughout Ontario.

Mae subsequently moved to Boston, where she is now the lead anchor for NESN's SportsDesk. She has been the lead anchor for SportsDesk ever since December of 2004. SportsDesk is the network's hour long sports news and highlights program that airs live every night following NESN’s Red Sox and Bruins coverage and 5 – 9 a.m. each morning (edited down to 30 minutes). She also serves as host of NESN’s Red Sox week-in-review program, the Granite City Electric Red Sox Rewind. On July 17, 2006, NESN extended Hazel Mae's contract. [1]
