Haywire was a minor character from the original Squadron Supreme series from Marvel Comics. Unlike many of the characters from that continuity, he did not have a DC Comics counterpart, but was an original creation.

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Harold Danforth, AKA Haywire, has the ability to create and project strands of 5mm. diameter metallic "tanglewires". These wires can be created at some distance from his body, and disappear if he loses consciousness. Haywire was a member of Nighthawk's Redeemers, who joined the Squadron Supreme in order to sabotage their efforts at world conquest. During this time he was romantically involved with fellow Redeemer Inertia. At the ended of Squadron Supreme: New World Order he chosen to remain on Marvel-Earth when the rest of the Squadron returned home.
