Hayln was born on October 9th to her mother Kayla. Shortly after birth and for unknown reasons, Kayla rejected Hayln. Seaworld staff then took it upon themselves to hand rear Hayln making a major break through in the interaction between orca and human. Hayln spent her early life out of the publics eye in a nursery pool with a dolphin to keep her company. On May 2nd, 2006 Hayln was moved from her solitary pool to shamu stadium to be reunited with the rest of her family.
