Hayato Nekketsu (熱血 隼人 Nekketsu Hayato?) is a fictional character from the Rival Schools video game series. A gym teacher from Taiyo High School, he is known for carrying around a shinai (bamboo stick) which he uses as a disciplinary tool (as well as being his main method of attack when fighting).

[edit] History
[edit] Rival Schools
After a number of his students were attacked, Hayato saw the need to take matters into his own hands to prevent further victims and thus became the only Taiyo HS staff member to take part in the kidnapping investigation in Rival Schools, supporting the Taiyo student investigation team in their fight. Being a teacher, he knew more about the background of Justice High School than the students, and was one of the earlier people to suspect it as the source of the mysterious events. It was during his enquiries that he became acquainted with Hideo and Kyoko.
[edit] Project Justice
When attacks on the schools erupt again, Hayato teams with Hideo and Kyoko to investigate the cause of the violence. This investigation is somewhat short-lived as 'Vatsu,' the Batsu impersonator, decisively defeats all three teachers. They are saved by the appearance of Hinata, Kyosuke, and the Chairperson, and, later, by the true Batsu. Their wounds are then given first aid by the Chairperson and they end up in the nurses office.
