Hawaii Free Press

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hawaii Free Press is a biweekly newspaper published in Hilo, Hawaii since January 2005.

A center-right newspaper founded by Andrew R. Walden, Hawaii Free Press has as its motto, "The untold story, the unspoken opinion, the other side." It is described as "a twice-monthly, independent, locally-owned, island-wide newspaper covering political, social, cultural, and economic issues from local to international. Hawaii Free Press brings out points of view based on free enterprise, small government, and individual liberty as a counterpoint to what is presented in the rest of Hawaii print and television media."

Although Hawaii Free Press does not have a website, many articles by Walden are previewed at HawaiiReporter.com. [1]

Hawaii Free Press is not affiliated in any way with the now-defunct Honolulu-based counterculture paper of the same title, which began publishing in 1968 as The Roach.[2], [3]
