Hauteville-Lompnes commune of France, in the Ain département. In 2000 it had about 6,000 inhabitants.

The commune was formed in 1942 by the union of Hauteville and Lompnes. In 1964 it absorbed the neighbouring communes of Lacoux and Longecombe.

The city is famous for its stone which can be found in various monuments, such as Empire_State_Building, the Kokyo Imperial Palace and many more.
The city was also famous at the start of the 20th century with its state of the art hospitals, notable in the fight against tuberculosis.
Now the city is more oriented to tourism activities, during winter with cross country and downhill skiing and during summer time with various activities, including walking, hiking and fishing.
