Haute-Vienne is a French département named after the Vienne River. It is one of three départements which together constitute the French région of Limousin.
The chief city of the Haute-Vienne is Limoges. In fact, Limoges is the only city of any size in the département with all other towns having a population of less than 20,000.

The source of the Charente River is in the département, near Rochechouart.
