Hathni Kund
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hathni Kund is a delightful location, built on a raised plinth overlooking the Yamuna. The river Yamuna flows into the plains of Haryana after crossing over the last lap of the Himalayan foothills at Paonta Sahib. The waters of the western Yamuna Canal are collected in the barrage at Tajewala, 5 km away from Hathni Kund. This amusing spot is perfect for amateur rafters. Outdoor camping in the lawn, and trekking into the Kalesar forest reserve are the major attractions. The spectacular view of birds such as tree pie, drongo, hornbills, blue peafowl and partridges can be relished.
Hathni Kund is only a short drive from Yamunanagar. The Yamunanagar Railway Station is the nearest railway station.
