Hate Me is a 2006 single from the Houston, Texas alternative rock group Blue October. For a time, it was the most requested song on modern rock radio[1]. The song peaked at number two on the Billboard Modern Rock charts and is currently at number 31 on the U.S. Hot 100. The beginning of the song replays a message left by lead singer Justin Furstenfeld's mother to Justin voicing how much she cares for him. In the song, he is remembering how his mom was always there for him, and he wants her to hate him because he never did anything for her. Towards the end of the music video, he is seen placing a voice recorder on (supposedly) his mother's grave.
