[edit] License tagging for Image:Hari nayak.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Hari nayak.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 05:05, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Notability
- Copied from Talk:Chef Hari Nayak
As a published author, chef and food manufacturer, this person may be notable. However, I couldn't find his book Mango Mia at the Library of Congress catalog at http://catalog.loc.gov or at Amazon.com. If he is notable, then the article will require considerable work to clean up. Before anyone spends time to clean up the article, it would be helpful to have a consensus about whether or not he is notable. TruthbringerToronto 07:28, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not sure how notable he is, but he wrote the entire article himself... that's why I changed the tag from db-bio to db|vanity... no offence, Mr. Nayak, but there are no citations or references in the article, and generally, autobiographical entries are proof unto themselves as to the lack of notability... I'm not saying that he is a nobody, but instead of writing an article about oneself, maybe this belongs on his user page... a very cool life story, and very impressive, just not encyclopedic... - Adolphus79 08:09, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] user page
It is felt that the article you created at Chef Hari Nayak is not suitable for a Wikipedia article, which must have a notable subject and be verifiable. I have moved it to User:Harinayak, which is where users are free to write about themselves. You are at liberty to move it back into the (Main) namespace but bear in mind that if you do so, it is likely to be nominated for deletion.
Note, however, that the purpose of a user page is to enable active editors of Wikipedia to introduce themselves to other editors. Wikipedia is not a general hosting service, so your user page is not a personal homepage. Content unrelated to Wikipedia or its editing is likely to be removed.
Please see the user page guidelines, especially this section for more information.
Please read WP:AUTO. The recommendation is always: wait until someone else writes a bio about you. -- RHaworth 08:46, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] User:Harinayak
I've added the "{{prod}}" template to your user page (User:Harinayak), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy).
Please note that the purpose of a user page is not as personal homepage or Wikipedia is not a general hosting service, but as way for active editors of Wikipedia to introduce themselves to other editors. If you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues here or on my user talk page. You may remove the deletion notice, and the page will not be deleted for the moment, but note that it may still be sent to Miscellany for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria.
