About Me
|
Mr Simon Harley is a student, E_Campaigning Secretary of Leeds University Conservative Future and contributes to the blog Make Socialism History. He hails from Cumbria and is proud to be a British unionist.
About me
Amateur historian studying Politics at the University of Leeds. I have wide ranging interests in transport, the Second World War, the First World War and French History.
I have so far contributed mostly to information on British dreadnought battleships and the odd bit of missing information regarding British naval and military history. This now amounts to a three-digit number of edits. As my contributions show, my knowledge is varied and hopefully sound.
What I have created
An article on the Leeds University Conservative Future, now sadly deleted due to the apparent short-sightedness of the Wikipedia mandate.
An article on Major-General Douglas Wimberley, one of the oft-forgotten British generals of World War II.
HMS Diomede, a cruiser of World War II.
What I am improving upon
HMS Bellerophon, an article I've effectively built from a stub into something a bit better.
Admiral Victor Crutchley, a popular RN officer of WWII.
My alma mater; St Bees School.
All British 12" Gun dreadnought articles.
Any and all British Army articles.
Any and all articles on the Royal Navy, the greatest fighting force ever.
What I hope to create
An article on the Bulleid 4DD, which I have already started linking to and researching.
An article on the Dreyer Fire-control Table, a subject in much contention at this time.
An article on HMS Seagull, first all-welded warship in the Royal Navy.
A new version of the EM-2 article, whose beginnnings can be seen here.
An article on the EM-2's sister rifle, the EM-1 Thorpe Rifle.
An article about the late Canadian author and newspaperman James B. Lamb, and his books.
An article on the late Thomas B. Dugelby, noted Canadian firearms author.
Start articles on all the British Battle Squadrons of the Royal navy in World War I.
