[edit] The motivating power of Tragedy
Many have fought battles and won. For those we applaud. There are many who have been beaten by the battles in life. For those people I have taken a stand. I was a defeated washed up self-pitying wreck of an adolescent after being literally, killed in an automobile accident, in 1979. After years of feeling like an inferior, pathetic, loser. I developed a philosophy of self-determination, and endurace, which saved me from myself. My own tortured psychological critic was shut up by learning to embrace my gains and disregard my losses. I've been doing motivational speaking for over 6 years for handicapped support groups. I found the meaning for my life. It is to use the tragedy which was my life, as a way to help others thru the tragedies they suffer. I also wrote a book of poetry, that is inspiring people to overcome their feelings of suffering and sadness, called "The Inspiration of Time." It has poems that address issues such as Alzsheimers Disease, moderation, the power of life, winning attitudes, and others. I was moved to write a poem in honor of the real victims of the Sept.11 tragedy; the children that lost parents on that day. another feature to my poems is that I wrote a short paragraph after each poem tellling a story about what inspired me to write this poem. I would like to be a guest on your program, because My book and my speaking could be a life saved to so many people that think they are beaten.
Daddy isn't coming home aymore; he used to work on the 110th floor. He wasn't a fireman, or police man; Just an office worker, just the mail man. I'm sure he would have saved someone else if e could; But he just went to work, like a good daddy should. He was one of the many, that nobody knew; I want you to know, he was my hero too. I remember whe he used to come home through that door; I'd run into his arms from accross the floor. He'd gather me up into his arms as I flew, but I want you to know, he was my hero too. This is for all the children, that have hugs to give, to mommies and daddies, that no longer live; And to the mommies and daddys that no bosdy knoew. I want you to know, they are all heroes too.
