Talk:Harmful effects of firecrackers
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Surely there are more examples of the harmful effects of fireworks than those in India.

- A lot but I don't have specific references. Fireworks are banned in Malaysia due to safety etc concerns (although you wouldn't know they're banned if you listen to night sky in KL during Chinese New Year or even Deepavali). There have been talks about banning them (and there are already some restrictions on the type) in New Zealand recently due to safety concerns (the fire service, animal groups etc all support a ban I believ). Animal groups worldwide tend to dislike them and are concerned about their effects on pets. N.B. When I talk about bans, I mean you require a special permit or whatever to have a display not a complete ban. I don't know of any country which has a complete ban although there is probably one.
