The Harry Potter Portal

This portal has been put in place to organise and provide a general entry point for all things Harry Potter. The Harry Potter franchise currently consists of six books, with one on the way; two spin-off booklets; four movies, with three on the way; and five video games, with two on the way. Additionally, a great deal of merchandise has been produced for the Harry Potter franchise. This portal is currently under construction, and we would greatly appreciate any help from experienced or inexperienced Wikipedians in creating and completing this portal. Thanks, and welcome to the Harry Potter Portal.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, released on 16 July 2005, is the sixth novel in J. K. Rowling's popular Harry Potter series. There are seven novels planned. Set during Harry Potter's sixth year at Hogwarts, the novel explores Lord Voldemort's past, and Harry's preparations for the final battle amidst emerging romantic relationships.

In 24 hours, the book sold 6.9 million copies in the United States alone, or 287,564 books per hour, making it the fastest selling book in history. It generated over $100 million in sales on its opening weekend, outpacing even the combined take of the top movies at the box office that same weekend. Bookseller Barnes and Noble reported sales averaging 105 copies per second in the first hour of sales

Harry Potter News

Recent Harry Potter News: More new people for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie have been cast! Warner Bros. announced that they have selected the actresses to play four previously uncasted roles. Evanna Lynch will be playing Luna Lovegood, Helena Bonham Carter will take the role of Bellatrix Lestrange, Imelda Staunton will be Dolores Umbridge, and Natalia Tena will play Nymphadora Tonks. Robbie Jarvis was selected to play Young James Potter, and George Harris will be Kingsley Shacklebolt. The movie will arrive in theaters July 13, 2007 to the US, the UK, and Canada.

Update: David Bradley, Warwick Davis, and Jason Isaacs each who play Argus Filch, Filius Flitwick, and Lucius Malfoy will be reprising their roles in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. It also now expected that Lavender Brown and Marietta Edgecombe may be cut.

Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore (born c. 1845) is a character in the Harry Potter series of books by J.K. Rowling. Dumbledore is headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Dumbledore is described as tall and thin, with long white hair and a long beard. He has blue eyes, a very long and crooked nose (looking as if it had been broken at least twice) and long fingers. He wears half-moon spectacles. He claims to have a scar above his left knee, its provenance unknown, which happens to be a perfect map of the London Underground.
