Harvest Moon (Wii)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Harvest Moon is a farming simulation title in development exclusively for Nintendo's Wii system being developed by Natsume and published by Marvelous Interactive. The title is mistakenly believed to be Harvest Moon Heroes, because of an error in various E3 reports.

[edit] Story
Harvest Moon Wii takes place on an island that is home to a goddess and a great tree. One day, the tree suddenly goes dry and the goddess disappears. The Koropokuru, a group of helper creatures, call upon the player to farm the land, build relationships with other characters and, eventually, revive the tree and bring back the goddess.[1]
[edit] Controls
All farming chores will be performed with direct controller motions. To till the player's garden's soil, for instance, they will swing the controller like a hoe. To water their plants, players will tilt the controller downwards as they would a bucket. The controller is expected to be used similarly when fishing and taking care of animals.
A few face buttons will be used as well. Left and right on the d-pad will be used for cycling between tools. Pushing down on the d-pad will disable all tools. The A button will be used to perform an action of some form; it has been presumed that this will be a general button for speaking with people or entering buildings.[2]
[edit] Name confusion
During E3 2006, new Wii games published by Marvelous Interactive were being announced. Two of these games were Harvest Moon and Heroes, a game in development by Grasshopper Manufacture. The line-break between the two game's titles was missing on several E3 reports, resulting in their name being combined into Harvest Moon Heroes.
In the December issue of Nintendo Power the name was confirmed as Harvest Moon Heroes in Japan and Harvest Moon Wii elsewhere.
[edit] Livestock and Poultry
A recent video released on IGN on November 3rd, 2006 shows that Harvest Moon Wii will include the following animals available for you to own:
Cows, Sheep, Goats, Chickens, a Dog, and a white Cat
It has not been shown in any videos anything about ducks (or any other poultry), but it is speculated that both may appear in the game. It also seems as if the heart levels for the animals, used in Harvest Moon DS, will return because it is shown with a close-up of the main character's dog with a heart over its head.
