Hartwell is a village in Henry County, Missouri, United States. The population was 16 at the 2000 census.

Hartwell is located at 38°26′6″N, 93°56′3″W (38.434925, -93.934126)^GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.2 km² (0.5 mi²), all land.

As of the census^GR2 of 2000, there were 16 people, 5 households, and 3 families residing in the village. The population density was 12.9/km² (33.6/mi²). There were 5 housing units at an average density of 4.0/km² (10.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 93.75% White, 6.25% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.25% of the population.

There were 5 households out of which 60.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.0% were married couples living together, and 40.0% were non-families. 40.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 20.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.20 and the average family size was 4.67.

In the village the population was spread out with 50.0% under the age of 18, 6.3% from 18 to 24, 31.3% from 25 to 44, 6.3% from 45 to 64, and 6.3% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 18 years. For every 100 females there were 100.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.0 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $9,375, and the median income for a family was $30,417. Males had a median income of $21,250 versus $8,750 for females. The per capita income for the village was $4,216. There are 40.0% of families living below the poverty line and 44.0% of the population, including 40.0% of under eighteens and none of those over 64.
