Hartnell College

Hartnell Community College is a 2-year community college in Salinas, California. It was founded in 1920 as Salinas Junior College, and renamed in 1948 for William Edward Petty Hartnell. The mascot is a black panther.
Hartnell Community College offers Nursing and allied health majors, Math and Science majors, Animal Health Technology, Agriculture, Foreign languages, Early Childhood Education, Astronomy, an athletics and physical education department, and majors in Administration of Justice, Health Education, Music, History, Computer technology, Drafting, English, Engineering, Welding, Auto Collision repair, Business Administration, Anthropology, Art, Sociology, Music, Theater Arts, and much more. Hartnell College maintains four campuses: South Salinas, Alisal (East Salinas), King City, and Natividad Medical Center. The main campus in South Salinas also includes a Disabeled Students Services Center, Admissions & Records office, Cashier's Office, Financial Aid Office, Student Union, cafeteria, a large parking garage, a new 21st century library and learning resource center, a well-stocked Bookstore, MESA program, a wide variety of other academic and career majors, and more. Located a few miles from Monterey Bay in Central California, the college is rich in cultural and ethnic diversity, and an ideal academic environment for learning and career enhancement. Tuition has recently been lowered making Hartnell College even more of a bargain.
