Harry Truman (disambiguation)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Harry S. Truman was the 33rd President of the United States and consequently his name is applied to several places and programs. Further complicating the matter is the spelling of his middle name. Truman said in jest that the "S" did not stand for anything and thus does not have a period. However, specimens of Truman's own signature, and references to him in print documents authorized by him, overwhelmingly use "S." Places and things named after him sometimes use "S" and sometimes "S."
