Harry Mark Christopher Judd, commonly known as Harry Judd (born December 23, 1985 in Chelmsford, Essex, England) is the drummer in the British pop band McFly, along with fellow band members Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter and Danny Jones. McFly rose to fame after former band Busted helped launch them by inviting them to tour in March 2004.
[edit] Biography
Judd was born in Chelmsford, in Essex, England. He was educated at Uppingham School, the school was also attended by ex-Busted star Charlie Simpson, now lead singer with the band Fightstar. Judd's brother, Thomas, was friends with Charlie Simpson when they attended Uppingham.
Harry Judd has been drumming for four years and he very rarely sings vocals in McFly. He can be seen playing the drums in Busted's music video for "Crashed the Wedding" which was released in October 2003, before Island began generating the buzz around McFly. He taught himself how to play drums. His favourite bands range from The Who to the Canadian rock band Simple Plan, American rock band Dashboard Confessional and the Beatles.
He is currently involved in a charity campaign called Rupert's Fund in honor of an old friend who was afflicted with leukemia as a teenager. Though he has since recovered, Harry founded the organization because he realized how horrible it was and wanted to help.
In March 2006, Judd participated in Sport Relief 'All Out For India' where a team of celebrities travellled to India as part of a cricket team, to help raise money for children there.
Harry Judd also appeared in the teen comedy film Just My Luck along with the rest of McFly. They played themselves in the movie as their band and trying to become famous pop singers in America. The movie hit theaters in the United States on May 12, 2006 and the UK on June 30, 2006. It was during the production of this film when rumours of a romance between Judd and Lindsay Lohan, the film's star, were flying.
