Harry Aikines-Aryeetey

Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, (born August 29, 1988), is an English sprint athlete. In 2005 he was named as the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Young Personality and the IAAF's Rising Star of the Year after becoming the first athlete to win gold medals at both 100m and 200m at the World Youth Championships.

Aikines-Aryeetey was born in London to Ghanaian parents and competes for the Sutton and District club. He has a personal best of 10.35 seconds over 100m and 20.91 seconds over 200m. On June 11, 2006 he competed in the 100m at Gateshead in which Asafa Powell equalled the world record of 9.77s.

On Wednesday 16th August 2006, he won gold in the 100m at the 2006 World Junior Championships in Athletics, held in Beijing, China, in a time of 10.37, a season's best.
