Harold Peto

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Harold Ainsworth Peto (1854-1933) was an English architect and garden designer. He was the son of Sir Samuel Morton Peto of Somerleyton Hall. In 1899 Harold moved to Iford Manor in Wiltshire, where he re-designed and expanded the garden, trying out new ideas, and housing his collection of artifacts collected during his many travels around the world. The garden at Iford illustrates particularly his Arts and Crafts approach to architecture and garden design.
