Harold James Halse (January 1, 1886 – March 25, 1949) was an English football forward. He was born in Stratford, London. Halse started his career as an amateur with Wanstead, Newportians, Barking Town and Clapton Orient, where he made 3 appearances in the Football League. He then joined Southend United, scoring 91 goals in 65 appearances in the 1906–7 season. He transfered to Manchester United in 1908 for the maximum transfer fee allowed at that time, £350. In a match against Swindon Town, Halse scored six goals for United. Halse helped Manchester United win the 1908 and 1911 league titles as well as the 1909 FA Cup. He left United in 1912 after scoring 56 goals in 125 appearances for the club. He then moved on to Aston Villa for £1200, where he won the 1913 FA Cup. He also moved to Chelsea, where he reached the finals of the 1915 FA Cup. He then left for Charlton Athletic before retiring in 1923.
Harold won 1 cap for England, and scored 2 goals in his only international appearance. He passed away on March 25, 1949.
