Harlan Hagen

Harlan Hagen (October 8, 1914 - November 25, 1990) was a United States Representative from California. He was born in Lawton, Ramsey County, North Dakota. He graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic High School in Long Beach, California. He also graduated from Long Beach Junior College in 1933 and received an A.B. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1936. He acquired the L.L.B. from the University of California, Berkeley in 1940.
Hagen served in the United States Army from 1943-1946. He was a member of the city council of Hanford, California in 1948. He was a member of the California state assembly, 1949-1952. He was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention, 1960 and 1964. He was elected as a Democrat to the Eighty-third and to the six succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1953 - January 3, 1967). He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the Ninetieth Congress in 1966. He died on November 25, 1990 in Hanford, California. He was buried in Grangeville Cemetery.
