Harel Levy

Har'el Levy (born August 5, 1978 in kibutz Nahshonim, Israel) is a professional male [tennis] player.
Harel began playing tennis at age seven and was forced to chose between tennis and soccer during his teenage years. He completed three years of military service in the IDF in 2000. Harel is a good friend of Brazilian tennis champion Gustavo Kuerten, with whom Harel was often a hitting partner.
Harel turned pro in 1995. He and Noam Okun have been Israel's top singles players over the last few years. His best results include beating tennis legend Pete Sampras, reaching the finals in Toronto Masters Series and Nottingham, and winning a doubles title in Newport, Rhode Island.
Harel Levy's greatest ranking was at #30 in the world in 2001. Unfortunately, Levy suffered from an injury during his peak years and never recovered enough to play at the top level. He's been ranked between 100-300 since.
