Hello Kitty: Happy Party Pals is the first Hello Kitty game for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance. Unlike the other Hello Kitty games which are mostly aimed at very young children, this game is more like a 'Sims' style game targeting an older audience as well.

The goal of the game is for Hello Kitty to plan a party. She must decorate, collect food, gifts, and entertainment for her party. Many of the various characters from Sanrio are present in the game. The characters have 'Happy Meters' floating above their heads. The idea is for Hello Kitty to keep all the characters happy so they have a good time at the party. If the characters are happy by the end of the party, then the player will receive a good 'party rating'. In addition to the main party world, there are an additional 13 mini-games to play.
