From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hanut is an uncommon Indian/Persian male name. Its meaning is not clear and in India itself it can mean either "The gift of love" or the chin of the monkey god "hanuman."
The author Eryk Hanut and the late polo great, Rao Raja Hanut Singh are two examples of people bearing this little known name.
Hanut is also used in certain countries as a slang for "tourist buggers".
A "Hanut" in Turkey is a small shop, generally below the house of the owner.
A certain ingredient used in embalming is also called hanut and means "Fragrance of Heaven"
