Hans Riemer (b. September 5, 1972) is an American politician and progressive political activist.

Hans Riemer was born in Oakland, California but currently resides in Silver Spring, Maryland. He married his wife, Angela, in 2002.
[edit] Political experience
Hans is currently running for elected office for the first time as a member of the Montgomery County County Council for District 5. He has, however, been an active participant in the political process. Mr. Riemer is an appointed member of the Long Branch Citizens Advisory Board and sits on the Action Committee for Transit and the Silver Spring Citizens Advisory Board Neighborhoods Committee. Hans Riemer is also the Political and Issues Director of Rock the Vote. In September, 2003, Hans was named the "Newsmaker of the Week" by The Capital Gang on CNN for his work with Rock the Vote. From 2001 to 2003, he was a senior policy analyst at the Institute for America's Future, actively involved in the Social Security Information Project. Before that, he founded the 2030 Center in 1996, and served as its director until 2001.
