[edit] Accomplishments
- The Hanahan Hawks football team had a region winning streak of 46 games. That was the second longest streak in the state of South Carolina (1st is Stratford High School, 51 games, still going). The streak ended with a loss at Andrews High School.
- Also the Hanahan Hawks football team has an accomplishment of 10-consecutive Region 6-AA Championships dating back to 1996. A reason for such winning ways might have occured because of the closing of Cainhoy High School in Huger, South Carolina. All students from the high school had to go to Hanahan. In those students, there were athletes eagar to continue their football careers. The athletes from Cainhoy and Hanahan High Schools have combined together for 10 years now to form a great football program.
[edit] Notable alumni
Bryce Florie pitched for four teams (the San Diego Padres, the Milwaukee Brewers, the Detroit Tigers, and the Boston Red Sox). He pitched for these teams from 1994-2001.
