Hamren is a town and a town area committee in Karbi Anglong district in the Indian state of Assam.

As of 2001 India censusGRIndia, Hamren had a population of 8278. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Hamren has an average literacy rate of 64%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 71%, and female literacy is 56%. In Hamren, 18% of the population is under 6 years of age.
