Hampden Bank

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hampden Bank (formerly Hampden Savings Bank) remains the only bank headquartered in Springfield, Massachusetts. Chartered in 1852, following railroad expansion to Western Massachusetts, Hampden Bank now consists of eight full-service branches and an extensive network of ATMs across Western Massachusetts. It remains a mutual bank, reporting to customers rather than stockholders. Assets total over $550 million. The Hampden Bank Foundation provides grants to nonprofit, community-based organizations in Western Massachusetts. Some examples of these institutions are Habitat for Humanity and the Community Music School of Springfield.
