Hammersberg Skanse/Terningen Skanse is a small fortification situated aproximatly 2km West of Elverum town centre (Elverumsleiret). It guards the small river "Terningen", and was constructed as a defence against the Swedes. River Terningen and Terningen Skanse also lends it's name to the current army camp, situated only ca 50m away; Terningmoen.
