Halls Crossroads, Tennessee

Halls Crossroads, Tennessee is a suburban community in Knox County, north of the city of Knoxville. It is included in the "Knoxville, Tennessee Metropolitan Statistical Area". It was named for the Thomas Hall family, which settled in this area in the late 18th century.

The community contains three major intersections: Maynardville Highway, Emory Road and Norris Freeway, and the name Crossroads derives from the intersection of Maynardville Highway and Emory Road, the first major intersection in Halls to have a red light. It has an elevation of 1,040 feet. Mary Lou Horner is a local politician and well-known resident of Halls who has served as County Commissioner for the area for years. Five schools exist in the Halls community: Brickey Elementary, Halls Elementary, Halls Middle School, Adrian Burnett, and Halls High School.
