Hallie Quinn Brown was an American educator, writer and activist. She was born in 1849 and died in 1949. She attended Wilberforce University and gaining a Bachelor of Science degree. After graduationg she became a teacher and later returned to Wilberforce to teach. Throughout her life, Brown was an activist for civil rights for women and African Americans.
