Hall i' th' Wood railway station (pronounced as "al" "i" "thwud") is the last stop before Bolton on the Northern Rail franchise's "Ribble Valley Line" line into Blackburn and Clitheroe.
The station is set amongst the urban sprawl of outer Bolton and is in a state of disrepair.
The name is not a misprint - generations of local accents and dialects have ensured Hall i' th' Wood maintains its local spelling.
