Halkirk is a village in central Alberta east of Stettler.

It was named for Halkirk, Scotland.

It is the birthplace of Shane Doan, a Canadian professional ice hockey forward playing in the NHL for the Phoenix Coyotes.

Halkirk has a yearly bull-a-rama in August. After which hundreds of people go party at the brand new beer gardens that was built in the summer of 2006.

The Halkirk Hotel is a finely furbished establishment that provides good quality rooms and serves excellent food.

A brand new post office is currently under construction.
