Haldane's Law

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

J. B. S. Haldane's statement that he suspected that "the Universe is not only queerer than we suppose, but queerer than we can suppose" is often described as Haldane's Law. It should not be confused with Haldane's rule in biology.

Americans, who often use the word "queer" in a specialized way, often express this law as "the Universe is not only stranger than we imagine, but stranger than we can imagine."
