Classic Cash: Hall of Fame Series is an album by American country singer Johnny Cash, released on Mercury Records in 1987 (see 1987 in music). It consists entirely of re-recordings of songs already associated with Cash from his Sun and Columbia days. While the performances aren't bad, they are less interesting or historically important than the original recordings. The album has also been criticized due to the use of several controversial production techniques, including synthesizers, in an attempt to update and modernize Cash's earlier songs.
