Haka Bowl
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Haka Bowl was a proposed American college football game that was going to be the first post-season bowl game to be played outside the United States since the Bacardi Bowl in Cuba. The game was to have been played at Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand. The game would have matched up the third place teams from the Pacific Ten Conference and Western Athletic Conference. The first game would have been on December 27, 1996. Because the bowl committee could not come up with financial guarantees, the NCAA revoked the license for the game. Currently, the International Bowl is set to be played in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and will become the next bowl game to played outside the US.
