Haines Mountains

The Haines Mountains (77°34′S 146°20′W) is a range of ice-capped mountains trending NW-SE for about 40 km (25 mi) and forming the SW wall of Hammond Glacier, in the Ford Ranges of Marie Byrd Land. Discovered by the Byrd Antarctic Expedition in 1934, and named for William C. Haines, meteorologist of the Byrd AE (1928-30 and 1933-35).
